There is no Perfect Size

Shedding spiritual weight is just as important as shedding physical weight.  Wouldn’t it be a burden if you lost all the weight you wanted, and still felt heavy and weighed down?  Believe it or not, it’s possible.

Make sure that as you lose weight, you are also letting go of negative mindsets that come with gaining weight.  Maybe you were an emotional eater and ate when you felt rejected, sad or lonely.  Or maybe you were a social eater who ate because it was a part of the atmosphere.  Let it go!  Don’t carry bad habits, unhealthy mindsets or ungodly practices into the New Year. 2011 is gone, 2012 is here!

II Corinthians 5:17 says “ Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature, old things are passed away, behold all things are become new.”  That’s right, all things not some things.  The way you talk, think and act.  If you find yourself talking defeat, thinking negative or acting out of line, it’s time to let it go and get with the new!

I’m sure you’ve heard the saying that doing the same thing expecting different results is insanity right? Right!  Well if you have accepted Jesus as your personal savior and made Him the Lord of your life, the bible says a sound mind has been reserved for you, the righteous.   Yes, you are righteous because of the blood of Jesus!  Quit saying things about yourself that God never said.  If he said you shall live and not die, agree quickly!  If he said he will keep you in perfect peace because your mind is stayed on him, change your thinking. If he says be ye holy, for I am holy, line up with the word and act like his child.  God does not want you burdened with the cares of this world. Cast all of your cares on him because he cares for you.

Maybe you’re holding on to the idea of being the perfect size or perfect weight. Listen, be thankful of where you are and enjoy the journey.  Jeremiah 29:11 says “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.”

Some of you have lost a tremendous amount of weight and can’t even rejoice because now you want the loose skin to tighten up.  Psalms 37:4 says, Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.  I love listening to gospel music when I work out because it takes me to a place of praise and worship.  As I am delighting myself in the Lord during the workout, He is toning, tightening, thinning and whatever other desires I may have.  Remember, as for God, his way is perfect, but a perfect size…there’s no such thing.
